My name’s David McIlroy. I’m a freelance writer, editor and proofreader based in Dromara, Northern Ireland. I’m married to the beautiful Christine (photographer extraordinaire!) and we have two bonkers dogs called Lupin and Ghost.
A little history: I grew up in Kilkeel, County Down, before moving to Belfast to study – there, I gained a BA in English and Film followed by a Masters in Creative Writing, both from Queen’s University. I also have a Masters in Youth and Community Work with Practical Theology. My varied interests led me to roles in video production, administration and youth work before I settled on becoming a freelance writer full time. I love writing – it’s something that comes naturally to me, and I grow more passionate about it every day.
I have ongoing experience writing content for websites and blogs, proofreading text and copy-editing existing work, but I’m always seeking to expand my portfolio. I enjoy working with people who take pride in their ventures and want to see them flourish – if my creative input can help make this happen, then I’m happy.
If you’d like me to work on a project for you, please just get in touch!
